EVEN when abroad, Rep. Tomas Osmeña of Cebu City’s south district couldn't resist picking on his political opponents.
An upbeat Osmeña said the doctors gave him a clean bill of health by confirming that he remains cancer-free.
The congressman and former mayor said he underwent blood testing and CT Scan last Tuesday and his doctors told him he was fit.
“My doctors in Houston said the results were very good just like in the previous years. (But) this is bad news for (Basak San Nicolas barangay captain) George Rama and (councilor) Joey Daluz III, but who cares,” said Osmeña’s text message.
The congressman accused the two men of wishing him ill as well as questioning his physical fitness before barangay officials after he underwent surgery to remove a cancerous gall bladder.
Osmeña said he and the rest of his family are very thankful to friends for their support and payers.
Daluz refused to comment on the mayor’s statement.
He instead wished the former mayor, the founder of the Bando Osmeña-Pundok Kauswagan (BO-PK) well. Rep. Osmeña, wife Margot and son Miguel left for the US on June 8.
They dropped by Las Vegas to watch the fight between Filipino boxing champion Manny Pacquiao and Timothy Bradley last Sunday.
On Monday, the Osmeña family went to Houston for Rep. Osmena’s check up.
They will be leaving for Los Angeles today and are expected to back in Cebu next Monday. /Chief of Reporters Doris C. Bongcac
